Wind speeds on Jupiter-like exoplanets reveal magnetic fieids

Astronomers using ESO’s Very Large Telescope and the Gemini North telescope, have measureed wind speeds on seven Jupiter-like exoplanets. "The observations show that these winds are most likely being slowed down by magnetic fields," according to ESO. Credit: ESO Directed by: Angelos Tsaousis, Martin Wallner. Editing: Angelos Tsaousis.
