It's illegal to litter and shoot glass targets on the public land near South Las Vegas Boulevard and Interstate 15. It's also illegal to shoot within half a mile of a highway or within 500 feet of a public or private road. But that doesn't stop people from using the area for target practice as they have done for the last 20 years. The Bureau of Land Management has coordinated with the Metropolitan Police Department and the Highway Patrol to step up patrols. But still there's endless trash. BLM is hoping for a culture change to shift the public away from target practice at the site.
