Tito Jackson, brother of Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 member, dead at 70

Tito Jackson, brother of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, and original member of The Jackson 5 has died aged 70. Jackson reportedly passed on Monday, according to former manager and long-term family friend Steve Manning, ahead of a show that the group were scheduled to perform. Jackson’s three sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ—formerly the R&B pop trio '3T'—confirmed their father's death in an Instagram post. "We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken…our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be 'Tito Time' for us," the trio said in the post. His cause of death has not yet been released. Before his passing, Tito visited a Munich memorial for his late brother Michael, thanking fans for “keeping his spirit alive." Former Jackson 5 drummer, Jonathan Moffett, took to social media to share a tribute to his “brother in heart and spirit." Jackson, who had pursued a solo blues career since 2003, was the last sibling to earn a place on the Billboard charts with 2016's 'Get It Baby.' In 2019, Tito and siblings Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine commenced a world tour as ‘The Jacksons.' The 'I Want You Back' group has sold over 150 million records globally since forming in 1964 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
