To celebrate the dogs that enrich, inspire, or in some meaningful way contribute to the lives of individuals or entire communities, the AKC Humane Fund presents the Awards for Canine Excellence (ACE) each year. Five loyal, hard-working dogs are commemorated for making significant contributions to an individual or their communities. K-9 Zeke was honored with the 2013 ACE in the Law Enforcement (now Uniformed Service K-9) category. Even after getting shot, Zeke held a suspect at bay until there was no longer a threat to police.
