NYC Mayor Mamdani admits he can’t arrest Israel PM Netanyahu

In a speech posted to X, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani addressed ongoing speculation about comments he made regarding the potential arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he were to visit New York City, citing the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant. Mamdani again called Netanyahu a "war criminal" and argued that he is directly responsible for what he described as the "genocide" in Gaza. However, Mamdani said New York does not have the legal authority to enforce the ICC warrant. Instead, he said he hopes the federal government will take action, as it has the jurisdiction to do so.
