Imam Nazeem Ntintili converted a run-down shebeen and pool hall in Khayelitsha into a mosque in 2012. He now teaches more than 40 children there, offers daily prayers and runs a soup kitchen from the building. A previous tavern regular has now turned to Islam and prays at the same place he used drink all his money away.
