Trump on MOAB: I've Given The Military "Total Authorization," "That's Why They've Been So Successful Lately"

At a meeting in the White House Thursday afternoon with first responders from last week's bridge collapse in Atlanta, President Trump answered several questions from reporters about the new super-bomb deployed against ISIS today in Afghanistan.
SHOUTED QUESTION: How about that bomb, sir? Did you authorize that bomb? PRESIDENT TRUMP: I'm very, very proud of the people. Really another successful job. We're very, very proud of our military. Just like we're proud of the folks in this room, we are so proud of our military, and it was another successful event. REPORTER: Did you authorize it? TRUMP: Everyone knows exactly what happened. So, and, what I do is I authorize my military. We have the greatest military in the world, and they have done the job, as usual. We have given them total authorization, and that's what they're doing, and frankly, that's why they've been so successful lately. Take a look at what's happened over the last eight weeks and compare it with the last eight years. There is a tremendous difference. Tremendous difference. We have incredible leaders in the military, and incredible military, and we are very proud of them. REPORTER: Does this send a message to North Korea? TRUMP: I don't know if this sends a message, it doesn't make any difference if it does or not. North Korea is a problem, the problem will be taken care of. I will say this. I think China has really been working very hard. I have really gotten to like and respect President Xi. He is a terrific person, we've spent a lot of time together in Florida, and he is a very special man. We'll see how he does. I think he is going to try very hard.
Test footage of the GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast device (MOAB):
