Gravity maps compiled from the ESA's satellite, GOCE, fill in important gaps in scientists' understanding of Antarctica. Research published in Scientific Reports provides a deeper understanding of Earth's lithosphere (upper mantle and crust) than current seismic maps and may hold clues to melting ice sheets.
