If you’re searching for some fresh tunes out of the reggae scene, look no further than Chronixx. The 24-year-old Jamaican native is prepping to drop Chronology, the follow up to his 2014 EP, Dread & Terrible. If you don’t recognize the name yet, you likely heard him on the Joey Bada$$ track, “Babylon,” off of April’s release All-Amerikkkan Bada$$. Chronixx has released a collection of singles from his forthcoming album, dropping on July 7, which includes the tracks “Majesty” and “Likes,” and will be touring the U.S. this summer. Chronixx, whose name is Jamar McNaughton, is as embedded into the genre as reggae as you can get, and he basically has it in his genes: he’s the son of the famous reggae singer, Chronicle (Chronixx is a variation of his childhood nickname, “Little Chronicle,” which he inherited from his father).
