Brian Williams reacts to Steve Schmidt calling Republicans "delusional" if they think a failed Trump candidacy will have no impact in 2020. "I think that anybody who thinks that Mike Pence is strengthened by a debate performance where he was able to shake his head repeatedly 'no' with a lot of sincerity is the frontrunner on the basis in 2020 and is not going to be tainted by this with a broad hypocrisy brush which so much of the Republican party will be tainted by is delusional," Schmidt, a Republican strategist, said. "Maybe some of this is what is going on behind the scenes, maybe it us who is delusional, who are delusional. We're the delusional ones," MSNBC's Brian Williams remarked.
