This Sinaloan Stylist Makes Swank Nails Inspired by Cartel Boss El Chapo

Ofelia Almeraz, who goes by the name Alexia, is the owner and chief stylist at Alexia’s Nails and Spa in South Gate. She specializes in the glitzy, elaborate style of her native Sinaloa, Mexico, also the birthplace of the notorious boss of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán. In January, after Mexican security forces arrested El Chapo in Sinaloa, Almeraz launched a new design she called Chapo Nails.
