This brewery helped make Van Nuys cool again. Now it's closing.

Another iconic Los Angeles brewery bites the dust. MacLeod Ale Brewing Co. is closing its doors on September 27, after 12 years of helping to make Van Nuys cool again. In 2014, MacLeod’s was one of the first craft breweries to open in LA’s San Fernando Valley. Since then, it brought a steady stream of young, hip Angelenos to an industrial stretch of Van Nuys lined with auto body shops.
