Brzezinski Cuts Off Michael Wolff After Nikki Haley Showdown: "You're Slurring A Woman," "We're Done"

Mika Brzezinski dumped guest Michael Wolffe from Morning Joe in the middle of an interview Thursday morning. after accusing him of "dancing around" an accusation that U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is having an affair with President Donald Trump. (Wolff responded on Twitter. Read the tweets at the bottom.) While Wolffe never explicitly accused Haley of the affair, he did not absolutely deny it while the rumor was entertained by media figures for weeks. The awkward exchange started with guest Susan del Percio confronting Wolffe for not stopping the rumors while he had "no proof" that the affair exists. "You made news this weekend talking about things you didn't know firsthand saying you believed it was true but you had no proof that the president had an affair with someone in his administration," she said to him. Wolffe, however, told Mika he "found it puzzling that she would deny something that she was not accused of [by him]." "Michael, you said she has embraced it. You might be having a fun time playing a little game dancing around this, but you're slurring a woman. It's disgraceful," she said to him. "It's, um, Mika, again, she has been accused of nothing," Wolff repeated his position. "She has decided to deny something what she has not been accused of. Certainly, I have not accused her of this," he said. "Wait, are you suggesting that the language is not ambiguous in any way in the things you have said and the way you have stated it?" The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg jumped in to ask. "Come on, are you kidding?" an incredulous Brzezinski said to him. "You're on the set of Morning Joe, we don't B.S. here," she sternly told him. "Read me the language," Wolff demanded of Brzezinski. "Are you kidding me?" she said. "I'm not reading you anything." "This was actually happening. This is why they pushed [CIA Director] Pompeo out. "If you don't get what we're talking about -- I'm sorry, this is awkward, you're on the set with us, but we're done. Michael Wolff, thank you. We're going to go to break now," Brzezinski said as she cut him off and ended the segment. "Bye everyone, we'll be right back." Wolff starts off his tweetstorm: My bad, the President is right about Mika.

My bad, the President is right about Mika.
— Michael Wolff (@MichaelWolffNYC) February 1, 2018

To be invited on a show with the purpose of being thrown off...is the new television.
— Michael Wolff (@MichaelWolffNYC) February 1, 2018

In other words, I had to say what Mika wanted me to say, or else...the hook!
— Michael Wolff (@MichaelWolffNYC) February 1, 2018

And let me repeat: Nikki Haley has chosen to vociferously deny something she was not accused of.
— Michael Wolff (@MichaelWolffNYC) February 1, 2018

The last time I was on Morning Joe off camera Joe and Mika eager to gossip about who Trump might be sleeping with.
— Michael Wolff (@MichaelWolffNYC) February 1, 2018

It really would be hard to gossip more eagerly off camera than Mika and Joe gossip.
— Michael Wolff (@MichaelWolffNYC) February 1, 2018
