Man Charged With Buying Human Body Parts Online

A man has been charged with abuse of a corpse and receiving stolen property for allegedly trying to buy human remains online. 40-year-old Jeremy Pauley was going to give a female mortuary employee from Arkansas $4,000 for the remains. However, the package was intercepted by law enforcement. A photo from Pauley’s Facebook showed bags and stacks of femurs with the caption, “picked up more medical bones to sort through." He also has a Facebook page called The Grand Wunderkammer, which he uses to sell body parts. Cumberland County District Attorney Sean McCormack said the sale of some body parts and bones is actually legal. However, during the investigation, they realized that illegal activity was also taking place. Pauley was arrested on July 22 but was later released on a $50,000 bond. Charges have yet to be filed against the Arkansas woman who sold Pauley the body parts online.
