Tragedy struck in the Dominican Republic as the roof of the popular Jet Set nightclub collapsed during a live concert, killing at least 113 people and injuring over 160. The packed venue was hosting a performance by Dominican merengue singer Rubby Perez when the disaster occurred. He was among the victims who lost their lives, as were were former MLB stars Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco. Rescue efforts are ongoing, as authorities have launched an investigation into what caused the structural failure.
