CENTCOM announced that the Strait of Hormuz is now “free of Iranian sea mines,” reopening critical trade routes. Admiral Brad Cooper praised the U.S. military, including the Navy SEALs, Army, and Air Force, for their assistance. Over the past few months, the military has coordinated the transit of at least 1,500 commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Since the blockade resumed, Iran has not exported any oil. The blockade has allowed ships to pass only for humanitarian purposes, while turning back 75 vessels.
