Urban Cruiser Hyryder is Toyota’s first foray into the mid-size SUV segment, and has been co-developed with Maruti Suzuki, which also has a sister model called the Grand Vitara. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is powered by hybrid-only petrol engines – there is a 1.5-litre petrol mild-hybrid sourced from Maruti and Toyota’s own 1.5-litre petrol strong-hybrid. The petrol mild-hybrid engine, in manual guise, also gets an all-wheel drive option. The strong-hybrid engine only comes mated to an e-CVT transmission.
