Why This Fisheries Biologist Finds Time To Mountain Bike While Restoring Rivers

When Kate Meyer isn't working as a fisheries biologist who specializes in river restoration, she spends her time at Mt. Bachelor, enjoying everything this mountain community has to offer. From adrenaline-pumping mountain biking to serene fly fishing, Kate has made a home in the peaks and valleys of the Deschutes National Forest. However, one of her true passions is watching salmon spawn in the rivers where she's made a career. These restoration projects bring her love of the outdoors full circle, from the joy she gets recreating in wild environments to the gratification she receives from seeing those environments healthy and thriving. It's a balancing act that Meyer has gotten just right.
