Priebus to Anti-Trump Republicans: "We're Going To Win With Or Without Them"

On the Mike Gallagher radio program Thursday morning RNC chairman Reince Priebus admonished anti-Trump Republicans and said "we're going to win with or without them." Priebus also chided Trump opponents for "screwing around" with the future of the Supreme Court. "They're not just screwing around with the next four years, some of these folks are screwing around with the next 40 years," Priebus told Gallagher. "You're just wasting your time. You're wasting everybody's money. You're wasting your breath. This is it. We have the House. We have the Senate. We need to win the White House. This is our chance to actually govern in this town and change things for the better," Priebus said. Transcript:
MIKE GALLAGHER, HOST: I've never seen anything like this, Mr. Chairman, where Republicans seem to act as if they want the Democrat to win. I don't get this and it's infuriating to those of us who know how disastrous it would be for Hillary Clinton to be elected president of the United States. Does it frustrate you to the same degree that it does a big-mouth talk show host like me? REINCE PRIEBUS, RNC CHAIRMAN: Well, sure it does. But it's important for all those folks to understand that support for someone else or support for nobody is support for Hillary Clinton and Sonia Sotomayor and a lot more of them on the Supreme Court. So they're not just screwing around with the next four years, some of these folks are screwing around with the next 40 years. So I mean if you actually believe in this stuff and you actually want to have a conservative Supreme Court, you think it matters, and you want someone who will actually sign a budget bill that balances the thing within the next 10 years for God's sake. Then you're going to need a Republican in the White House. Otherwise, we're just wasting everyone's time and money... They say, 'Oh, if only we had the Senate, boy everything would be great.' Okay so we win the Senate, we keep the House. Now they say, some of these folks, 'Now, I don't know if I'm on board yet.' Well then what are you doing? You're just wasting your time. You're wasting everybody's money. You're wasting your breath. This is it. We have the House. We have the Senate. We need to win the White House. This is our chance to actually govern in this town and change things for the better. And for some people to take a pass it is unfathomable why people would have that attitude. GALLAGHER: It's madness. It's maddening and I'll tell you why. Because they're going to be the first ones complaining under a President Hillary Clinton. That's what's infuriating. They'll be complaining if she gets elected as if they didn't help get her there. PRIEBUS: They're not just going to be complaining. They're going to be complaining and blaming. But, look, it's not going to happen. The problem with these guys have is we're going to win with or without them. And so I believe that this party is going to be unified, we're going to have a great convention and folks are going to be onboard. Now we're only talking about a few people. We're not talking about the vast majority of Republicans in this country. We had more Republicans vote in this election (primary) than any election in the history of our party. Trump won more votes than anyone in the history of our party. We had an increase of almost 70% in turnout. The Democrats had a decrease in turnout. So I think we also have to look at the positives which is for the most part we're breaking records when it comes to Republicans participating. But we have a few voices out there. And it's their right to speak. They're making it more difficult.
