On the first stop of the MCC Powering Africa trip, MCC CEO Dana J. Hyde toured the Vedoko electricity substation in Cotonou, Benin. While the substation is responsible for providing power to all of Cotonou, the port and the airport, it is forced to rely on imported power from neighboring countries. MCC’s Benin Power Compact supports Benin’s efforts to upgrade its electricity grid and become energy independent.
