Madonna said she has thought an awful lot about "blowing up the White House" at the Women's March in D.C. on Saturday. She then told the crowd to join her in a chant of "we choose love." Afterward Madonna sang her 1989 hit "Express Yourself." "Yes, I am angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know that this won't change anything. We cannot fall into despair. As the poet W. H. Auden once wrote on the eve of World War II, we must love one another or die. I choose love. Are you with me? Say this with me. We choose love!" Madonna said. "And to our detractors that insist that this march will never add up to anything, f*ck you!" the singer said. The channel MSNBC cut coverage but then excused the use of expletive because "it's Madonna" and she is allowed certain artistic "liberties." Anchors Thomas Roberts and Joy Reid laughed about her use of the vulgarity and the network resumed coverage shortly afterward. And I'm sure it was well received, among folks here." Madonna later said she would not be referring to President Trump by name, instead choosing to use 'DT.' She said the 'D' could stand for 'dick.' MSNBC once again cut coverage and laughed at the singer's use of vulgarities. "She could be speaking about a guy named Richard," Thomas Roberts quipped.
