Prior to the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, Chris Matthews made a Mussolini comparison on MSNBC's live coverage of today's festivities. The MSNBC panel, including Brian Williams, Rachel Maddow, Eugene Robinson and Steve Schmidt, discussed the power struggle in the Trump inner-circle and the role they expect Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who will be his senior advisor, to play. "It's hard, Rachel, it's hard to fire your son-in-law," the Hardball host said. "That's the tricky part. But Mussolini had a great solution to that. He had them executed." Even Rachel Maddow was taken about by Matthews' comment. "Jesus, Chris," the Rachel Maddow Show host said. "So if I were Jared, I'd be a little careful," Matthews added. "Well all the people who were waiting for the mention of Mussolini have just started drinking," Maddow said.
