A while back Common was having some general zoom conversations with Offset. During their chats Offset shared with Common how as a young man with a felony conviction he was told by a parole officer that he could not vote. This was not in fact the case but as a young black man with a prior conviction he was fearful to register. This story is one of thousands and with continued efforts by our current administration to suppress voting, Common felt it was imperative to get Offset’s story out to the community so other young men and women could hear it and know that they are not alone. They DO have the right to vote and use their voice to make change. With funding from Unite2020, Common created this PSA featuring Offset.
