Whatsapp has revealed that the app will no longer work on several older Android and iOS devices by the end of the year. Devices impacted by the change include all Android devices running on Android 4.0.4 and older. As well as any iPhone running an operating system older than iOS 10. Popular devices which this change will affect include the Samsung Galaxy SII, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and the iPhone SE. People who use any of these devices will be forced to buy a new phone to continue using the messaging app. Whatsapp will stop updating the devices from November 1, which will gradually lead to the app becoming defunct on those devices.
